
Jazz At Sea
What started out as a mere idea became a reality in 1989 when entrepreneur and entertainment marketing executive Stanley Stain and special event promoter and apparel industry executive Don Derbigny teamed up to form Onyx Productions LTD. In 1999, Stain and Derbigny partnered with entertainment producer and special event coordinator Roland Wirt to create Jazz at Sea, which has become Southern California’s premier upscale entertainment format and venue.
Jazz at Sea has become one of the most successful V.I.P. social clubs in LA, hosting exclusive invitation-only events that guarantee a plush, elegant atmosphere.
Don Derbigny
Mr. Derbigny is President of Give-and-Go, a young men’s sports apparel line. He has an appreciation of the mixed cultures, music, food, people, art and entertaining in his native town of New Orleans.
After serving 9 years in the Navy, and completing his studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills College, he landed a job at Levi Strauss & Co. In 1992, Mr. Derbigny developed “Smart Clothes”, a contemporary clothing line for teens and young adults.
With one foot in business and one in entertainment, he organized and became a founding partner of Onyx Productions, developing exquisite VIP social events for the Hollywood elite.
Roland L. Wirt
Mr. Wirt is President CEO for Direct/EFX Marketing Group. He has experienced a great deal of success and achievement in the entertainment industry.
Mr. Wirt collaborated with many R&B, jazz, soul, hip-hop and gospel artists including, Will Downing, Kenny Lattimore, Chante Moore… the list goes on and on and on!
Mr. Wirt has also worked with many actors, music and film producers and directors. He is very active in community endeavors and has worked on projects with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, The Tavis Smiley Foundation, founding member (along with Denzel and Pauletta Washington) of The Gathering Place, an AIDS hospital for mothers and children.
Stanley Stain
Mr. Stain is a Partner in Diverse Entertainment which has provides marketing, promotion and production services to to music and cable industry clients.
He co-directed the BET/Unity national concert tour and festival which featured: Gerald Levert, Kriss Kross, Fugee’s, Wu Tang Clan, X-scape, Shanice, Outcasts, and others. Stain’s civic and community involvement is extensive and includes, Minnie Riperton 5K Run, I Have A Dream Foundation-LA and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Besides hosting events at some of the hottest nightclubs in LA, including ‘The Green House’ and ‘Glitter’, Mr. Oldham is pursuing an acting career as well. Among many shows, you may have seen him in the production of ‘The Living Room’.
